Hitting a specific spot in the sand with your wedge is the key to a successful bunker shot.
PGA Professional Bryan Overland shares a quick tip to help you make sure you hit that spot every time.
Getting Ready To Swing?
Keep this in mind.
Practicing is just as important as the game itself- some may argue it's even more important. This is why I've put together a few key elements you should focus on to ensure you are practicing like a pro and getting the most out of your game.
The First Step...
Invest in equipment that is right for you.
With all the technology available in the game, golfers can now hit the ball farther and straighter than ever before; when they're fit with clubs that best fit their individuals needs.
With hundreds or different shafts available, and not just for drivers but irons and even wedges; how do you know what the best club set up is for you? OvieGolf offers professional club fitting lessons. This is where you will receive personalized service at our prestigious practice facility using the best technology available in the game. Our fitting lessons include the use of Trackman technology which tracks Smash Factor, Spin Rate, Launch Angle, Carry, Ball Speed, Club Speed, Dynamic Loft, Attack Angle, Club Path, and Face Angle all in effort to provide you with the feedback necessary to fit you with the proper clubs, shafts, and even grips that best suite your individual golf swing.

The biggest mistake...
This biggest mistake I see amateur golfers making time after time is practicing without a purpose.
Spending far to much time hitting driver after driver, often times not even taking a moment to analyze their previous shot and making any necessary adjustments, rather they will just tee up another one, and smash away. Practice in golf is all about QUALITY over QUANTITY.
If you're not taking the time to analyze your previous shot and make adjustments to correct mistakes you are simply wasting your time. You will benefit much more from your practice if you are willing to slow it down, stick to your pre-shot routine, and hit every shot with a purpose and goal in mind.
My Biggest Tip to You!
Practice with a purpose.
Finding the time in your busy schedule to practice and improve your game can be difficult. That is why it is important to practice with a purpose. You may only have an hour of time dedicated to practice, so make the best of it. Have a plan set in place before you just start pounding ball after ball. Have a consistent routine while practicing.

The Importance of Physical Training in Golf
Make no mistake - golfers of all levels are athletes and the golf swing does require a great deal of athleticism.
Strength, power, flexibility, balance, core stability, body awareness, even endurance are all physical traits that every consistent golfer must possess. Proper physical preparation can improve your outlook, take strokes off your score and even help you to enjoy the game.
The Importance of Mindset in Golf
Having the right mindset while golfing is the most important factor to having success on the golf course. This is a component that most athletes struggle with which has a direct impact on their performance. Here are some recommended books that we have personally used to tap into the mental correlation.
